Bedtime Stories: Ioanna Limniou

Ioanna Limniou's solo exhibition, Bedtime Stories, is a dreamscape woven from shades of blue. In this ethereal new body of work, Limniou explores the intricate and ever-evolving relationship between nature and humanity. Each piece is a poetic reflection on the symbiosis of the elements—air, water, and earth— capturing the dance of their interactions through the medium of color, texture, and movement.

Drawing inspiration from the natural environment, Limniou's work delves into the sensory experiences that each place and space evokes. She masterfully translates the invisible qualities of air and sound into visual forms, capturing the stillness and movement that characterize the natural world. The exhibition explores the interplay between temperature and colour, the tactile essence of soil and stone, and the fluid motion of wind and waves. Her canvases echo with the whispers of breeze, the pulse of salty air, and the timeless rhythm of the Greek islands' summer.

The exhibition's title hints at a sense of wonder and nostalgia, evoking the glow of the moon and quiet tales whispered in the dark. Limniou's paintings seem to radiate an inner light, inviting viewers to embark on a journey through her blue-tinted world—a world where every stone and sea shell has a story and where the boundaries between the human and the natural blur into a serene and harmonious whole.
